Random Update...

I keep logging into my blog with the intent to write a post... but bloggers-block has certainly been plagueing me because I end up just logging back out again. Therefore... I am forcing myself to write this post... even though I do not have anything profound to say. So, enjoy! : ) Here's a little update on everyone...

BLAINE: He is pushing hard through school. I am unbelievably proud of him. It used to be me nagging him to do his homework... now it's me feeling guilty because he's always getting his done and I keep procrastinating. LOL He'll be done with his Associate's this fall, and he's hoping for either a little promotion or a new job where he can gains more knowledge and experience while he finishes his Bachelors (Healthcare Administration). He is, as always, such a wonderful dad and I'm so grateful I have him around when I go all crazy and get stressed over the silliest little things (which... uh... happens.... well... we wont say "a lot".... we'll just say.... "sort of often" LOL).

ME: I have been using my free time in between jobs (by choice, no I didn't get fired, LOL) to do extra stuff around the house. I've been able to organize better and get lots of things done that were in need. I've also been able to scratch that crafty-itch I've been having for the past... well... long long time and my house is sufficiently cute I must say. Lots of little touches here and there have gone a long way (pictures to come! because I'm excited about it all!).

KADAN: He's been doing MUCH better in school. He had a rough time there for awhile. I think he inherited a bit of mommies anxiety along with the independence... OCD... perfectionism... ahem... we wont go on. Let's just call it "very Type A". LOL Anyways... he LOVES learning and he gets along good with other kids, it was just the adjusting to having his whole day (kindergarten is all day here) scheduled and planned out and not much of free-choice time in between all those structured activities. Mostly he just wasn't too fond of having someone tell him what to do for 7 hours straight in a day. ; ) Yup.... pretty sure he's mine! : ) He's finally adjusting and finally showing all that he knows (for awhile he was playing the 'dumb' card because he was bored and annoyed with it all, little stinker).

ZACKERY: Oh, man... he certainly inherited the joker personality from his namesake! (My Grandpa Jones) He is such a little goofball and what a tease! The other day in the parking lot of Big Lots he shouts to this college-student-Big-Lots-worker, "Hey, Mom! Is that my dad?"... "No, he's not your dad silly."... (giggles) "Maybe him is my dad! Hey, are you my dad!?"... guy looks towards him confused and embarrassed and keeps walking... (zack giggles) "Maybe you is my dad, maybe! Bye dad!" I put him in the car and say, "You think you're pretty funny don't you?"... (zack cracks up laughing, obviously very pleased with himself) "Yeah. I is pretty funny mom. I is." His other new favorite thing is to sing his "ABCD's", which is a more liberal version of your typical "ABC's" song in which various pieces of the alphabet are rearranged (and some repeated) in the song. It is QUITE excellent, and I certainly will be posting a video of it soon.... "now I knows my ABCD's, next time maybe you sing wiff Zacky..."

CAMERON: He is doing so good and we're so proud of the little baby dragon. We can't even believe how fast this kid is growing up! Well... aging... LOL He's a little slow with the actual 'growing' part. : ) With as much as he eats, we're really not sure what he does with it all, but he's been having a little bit of a hard time gaining weight. He's gaining... just very slowly. So their having us add all sorts of fatty things to his food: butter, avocado, etc. Anything we can do to add extra fat and calories, we are doing. The other little issue we've been working on is his hearing. At this point we're not sure if there is an issue with his middle ear or if it's just fluid in his ears preventing him from hearing as good as he should be. We've been meeting back and forth between the Audiologist, Pediatrician, and Development Specialist about the issue. Right now we know there IS some fluid in his ears, but we don't know how long its been there so we're waiting to see if it will clear on it's own. Come his first birthday, if it's not significantly lessened, we will probably decided to go ahead and put tubes in. Hopefully that will take care of the hearing issue, if not, we'll figure out what to do next. Every other area he is very quickly catching up in. He's always been advanced for a preemie in his motor skills. This kid is EVERYWHERE now. He's been crawling for awhile and he can pull himself up like it's nothing. If he had a little more weight on him to make him a little sturdier I daresay he'd be pretty dang close to walking by now. He's such a happy little guy and loves any and all attention he gets from his big brothers (who are absolutely wonderful with him!). He especially loves the puppies, Isabelle (who lets him use her ears like a chew toy) and Sasha (who is his constant companion during meal time as she patiently awaits him to drop a cheerio or two for her to clean up). He's started to try to bark back at them, which just comes out as, "ah! ah! ah! ah!" But it IS pretty cute despite its inaccuracy. : )

Well, I suppose that is all our family's news. Nothing tremendously exciting, but sometimes no (or little) news is good news I think. Our hearts are with Blaine's brother Landon and his wife Shauna who just lost their newborn baby girl, Brylee. It makes me grateful for my three little ones and all that we have. You never know what life has in store for you, so make the best of what you've got and appreciate every little tiny blessing you are given. I know that sweet baby girl is going to be up in heaven watching over her wonderful parents and waiting patiently for the day when she can be with her mama and daddy again.
