This summer has been SO good for me and Blaine! When Cameron hit 2 months, I started exercising and watching what I ate. Me and Blaine counted calories strictly for a month and it was AWESOME. Now we aren't so strict about it, but we are very aware of it BECAUSE of the one super strict month we had. It was good for us! Our grocery list is very different than it was 6 years ago when we first got married. It's actually fun for us to find new foods and healthier substitutes for old favorites.
We have also been hitting the gym hard. We haven't been going quite as often as we'd like. We always get in at least one good workout, usually 2. Though there have been weeks we've been so busy with summer stuff that we haven't gone at all (dang!). Now that summer fun has slowed down and we're falling into our regular fall routine, we have set aside specific times on specific days (4 days a week) to go. We've also learned some new workout routines we've just started to change it up and get our metabolism going again! : ) It's been tough... I've been super sore after each workout lately, but it's a good sore! Progress!
We really LOVE going to the gym together and we will love it even more now that I get a free membership and Blaine gets a super-discounted membership (because of my new job at the gym daycare/preschool). Mwah ha ha ha.... I love a good deal. : ) It's kind of our 'alone' time together... date night really. LOL It's something we're both interested in and have fun doing and we enjoy being able to cheer each other on and push each other when we're feeling wimpy on a particular day. It's fun to learn more about different fitness and exercise tips and try them out together. I KNOW I couldn't have done as good as I have this summer without my hubby by my side as I'm sweatin' away on the eliptical and weight machines! : ) (thanks honey!)
When Cameron was 5 months old... I officially hit "pre-Cameron" weight, which was a HUGE deal for me because I have NEVER reached "pre-Kadan" weight since I had him and I just BARELY reached "pre-Zackery" weight when he was almost 2 year old!... and I got pregnant again soon after that, so I didn't have much time to enjoy it! : ) I am only a couple pounds from being "pre-Zackery" weight again. (haaaaaaaaaaaalelujah!) My tummy is still not as skinny as it was last time I was at this weight... (still some extra baby weight skin to tone up) but I feel like on average my whole body is more toned than ever. I'm not at my skinniest in my adult years... but I do think I'm at my strongest and healthiest, which is important to me, too.
I wish I could learn to like veggies and salad more... I pretty much only like potatoes, carrots, corn, and OCCASSIONALLY green beans, and sometimes I like peas (but only raw straight from the garden). So.... that's not really giving me much to work with in that area...
Ugh. It's been forever since I've blogged. I'm not going to lie... I get very unmotivated for blogging when I NEVER get comments. People say they read it... but no one ever comments... so I've been resorting to facebook posts mostly lately, where I can get a little feedback for the mundane random things I feel I need to share with the world. ; )
I know how you feel Karri! I never get comments on my blog either. I made it to keep people up to date and I feel like they never read it. I am still here and reading away at it. I love that I am able to keep up with what is going on with you and your life. So I know I am not much of a motivation. Blogging is a lot of work, but at least this one person is appreciating your efforts =)
ReplyDeleteHere I am... your faithful blog commenter. :) Let me just say that scheduling gym time is genius.
